BBC – radio and television
I have appeared and consulted on many radio and television programmes for the BBC. For example, I am consultant and presenter for the BBC World Service series The Good Foods Guide, nutrition expert for the BBC Radio Scotland Feeling Healthy series, and a regular contributor to live discussion and topical events programmes for BBC Radio Scotland. I have been interviewed by BBC Radio 4’s The Food Programme and have made television appearances for BBC Scotland programmes.
I was nutrition consultant for the adventure series Castaway, broadcast on BBC tv in 2000. In 1995, interviews I recorded and my personal audio diary for my Kilimanjaro expedition formed the basis of a four-part series entitled The Roof of Africa, broadcast of BBC Radio Scotland.
The Great Outdoors – nutrition feature articles
I write features for TGO – The Great Outdoors magazine – and have a monthly page in the mag on nutrition for outdoor sportsmen and women.
Sky Television – Destination Adventure
I was interviewed by the Sky Destination Adventure crew who were looking for tips about food for expeditions and how important it is to plan the food supply for travelling. I talked about nutritional principles when trekking at high altitude, walking through the desert, and expeditions to cold environments.
